Senior Construction Foreman/Site Agent/Project Manager:

Core Responsibilities

Reporting to the Construction Manager, the Construction Foreman:

  • Coordinates all site construction activities and supervises all field personnel (including Subcontractors) as required to successfully and efficiently complete building projects within worked budgets and timed schedules.
  • Must be a strong finishing Foreman
  • Is tasked to administer construction safety practices with all on site activities
  • Ensures daily programming of all site works is performed in accordance with the company's construction program
  • Ensures all site resources (labour, machinery, equipment, materials, subcontractors, etc.) are effectively utilized and monitored in order to achieve timely completion of projects at Zotos Brothers (Pty) Ltd’s standards.
  • Orders materials efficiently and schedules site inspections at the various stages and levels as required
  • Keeps track of all work performed as well as materials used and is responsible for control of costs in materials used and wages
  • Should competently understand and interpret projects plans and specifications
  • Ensure strict quality control checks are regularly done and applicable quality checklists are properly completed.
  • Maintains positive relationships with clients/customers, Subcontractors, suppliers and fellow employees
  • Promotes job site safety as well as encouraging safe working practices and rectifying job site hazards
  • Maintains an orderly and organized job site including the site office and store room(s)
  • Ensures all employees and subcontractors adhere to the company’s and national safety policies

  • Very organized with a systematic approach to tasks to achieve accuracy and efficiency
  • Very well developed organizational and interpersonal skills, including the ability to supervise and work with diverse personalities
  • Professionally and technically competent
  • Analytical, Ambitious, assertive, confident, quick and ethical
  • Display strong communication skills (written, oral and effective listening skills)
  • Have good analytical and problem solving skills and makes sound decisions in a timely manner based on objectives, risks, implications and costs

Education and Experience

  • A tertiary qualification in Construction Management will be desirable
  • 15 years of proven experience within the Construction Industry with emphasis being placed on scheduling, ordering, field supervision, quality control and production of all phases of alterations as well as residential and office block construction.
